Hi Tiffany,
Wow, what a great story. So glad to hear you didn't let the "labeling" get you down when you were younger. It is obvious you have counted your trials as joy (James 1:2-3), and turned those hard times into something that has really benefited your family. Keep up the great work homeschooling your son!
God bless,
Dr. Shormann

Yes, Dr. Shorman. You are absolutely correct when it comes to consumer math. Unfortunately I was one of those kids who struggled in high school. I couldn't seem to wrap my brain around algebra. Instead of help, I got a transfer to "consumer math". I was so embarrassed, I couldn't tell my friends about the class I was in. I had been labeled "dumb", so therefore I thought that was the case. Unfortunately I didn't make it through college, but I believe strongly in education, so I worked very hard to put my husband through college, med school, and residency. In 6th grade our son was having trouble in school. I didn't want the same experience to happen to him. After much prayer and fasting, we decided to homeschool. It is definitely not the easy way out. I'm thrilled that as a freshman this year he's doing very well in algebra 2 with geometry. I'm so thankful for the dive cd's. There isn't a day that goes by, I wish I'd had the confidence to take the higher math classes. Until I get that chance, with the help of the DIVE cd's and my well educated husband, history will not make the same mistake for my kids. They will have the confidence needed to go to college and beyond.
Thank you,
Tiffini
